Allumette, by designer Francesca Lanzavecchia, is a project that explores the theme of the traditional chandelier, redefining its aesthetic codes with the aim of transforming light into emotion and creating empathetic connections between people and objects. Allumette means “matchstick” and evokes the idea of a light that gently ignites. The luminous elements at the ends of the arms are designed to create an ethereal effect of suspension in space, drawing on the concept of light guidance. Its form, only apparently static and complete, is conceived as never truly definitive: each angle reveals a different aspect, the result of an ongoing search for compositional balance. Starting from the base of the central stem, the cables trace a fluid shape, shaped by the force of gravity rather than by a rigid path.
