Nothing more than a sphere resting, in apparent impossible balance, on a cone that acts as a base. One of Gio Ponti's many compositional magic, designed in 1932. The juxtaposition of two elementary geometric shapes gives rise to an original object with perfect proportions. A simple composition that is enriched thanks to the extraordinary balance of proportions and the discreet elegance of the non-reflective materials. The light is diffused and the light emission is enhanced by the geometric essentiality of the design. In drawing Bilia, Gio Ponti imagined a smaller-scale version with a range of “spray colors”. From those hand notes of the original project, FontanaArte presents Bilia Mini in new breathtaking color variations.
