With Pure Sofa designer Andrei Munteanu reduces design to the essence, devoid of all excess: pure simplicity and elegance. This modular outdoor sofa consists of several elements that combine easily into a corner sofa, long couch, lounge bed, etc. The sofa is available in high-quality teak from Indonesian plantations. Cushions are available in Casual style designs and numerous luxury outdoor fabrics.

 Andrei Munteanu

Andrei Munteanu, born 1964 in Bucharest, Romania. Studies physics and industrial design. Collaborates with various companies in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Italy.
His most significant objects are the Pure Sofa realized in 2003 by Tribu, the Bora Bora system of modular sofas designed with Piergiorgio Cazzaniga and realized by Mdfitalia in 2008 and the Radius One clothes hangers realized in 2010 by Radius Design. He has received several awards, including the IMM Innovation Award in 2003.
"Born and educated in Romania, I focussed first on natural sciences. I found my artistic identity trying to link various influences: italian design of the 60’s and 70’s, japanese architecture, primitive art. I see design as a form of art, with one serious difference: the object that is created is a vehicle that faces the priority requests, namely it has to be usable, mass produced and commercialised”.
