Dolmen Floor Lamp

Floor lamp to be installed resting on the wall with diffused and reflected light. The lamp is made up of a laser-cut aluminum foil and folded with a bending press and finished by hand. The aluminum is anodised and subsequently painted with transparent or colored liquid. Two opal PMMA diffusers, the front one is also slightly embossed. Between the two diffusers a plate, always in transparent PMMA, diffuses the light coming from the multichip LEDs installed on the long sides of the aluminum structure. The plate is laser-engraved in the areas corresponding to the portholes for concentral reflection of light. Electric cable and transparent dimmer, a small relay is supplied for the obligatory anchorage to the wall.

"One of the most iconic projects in Foscarini history, revisited according to the new opportunities offered by LED technology: it is Dolmen, designed by Ferruccio Laviani in the mid-90s. A piece with a strong symbolic value, the expression of a concept of lampsculpture that never goes unnoticed thanks to the exceptional nature of its monolithic shape, with four large holes similar to the portholes of a ship, and its unusual support position. The use of a dimmable LED light source, with a warm and uniform light, has allowed to re-proportion the design of the lamp, which becomes thinner and with greater aesthetic cleanliness. The proposed finishes transform the personality, suggesting different emotions and settings: opaque orange with industrial flavor and brushed aluminum with hi-tech inspiration, or a warm bronze color. In all versions, Dolmen gives the environment in which it is inserted its decisive character and its immediately recognizable personality."
