Stephen Burks 

Stephen Burks is a traveler and a designer.
For over a decade, he has dedicated his work to building a bridge between authentic craft traditions, industrial production and contemporary design.
Since 2005, Burks has consulted with the non-profit organizations, including Aid to Artisans, the global Clinton initiative, the Africa design network, the Artesanias de Colombia and the Conservation of Nature, uniting the craftsman, designer and global brands. in an immersive development triangle.
With his New York studio, Stephen Burks Man Made, Burks has produced innovative products, furniture, lighting and exhibitions for a wide range of international clients including B & B Italia, Boffi, Cappellini, Dedar, Dedon, Harry Winston, Missoni , Moroso, Parachilna, Roche Bobois and Swarovski.
He has exhibited at the Harlem Studio Museum and the Museum of Arts and Design, as well as receiving numerous awards including the Illinois Institute of Technology, the Alumni Professional Award, the Young Modernist Museum Award, the Architektur & Wohnen Audi Mentor Prize and the 2008 United States Artists Architecture & Design Grant Target Fellowship.
Burks is the winner of the 2015 National Design Award Cooper Hewitt in Product Design.
